Tappan
Lake is in Harrison County. This lake covers
2,350 acres of fishing water with 47 miles of shoreline.

Tappan
Lake is located in northwestern Harrison County
in Stock and Franklin Townships. US Route 250 follows
the main body of the lake for 7 miles. Other township
roads border three long bays on the north side making
for easy access to the lake. New Philadelphia, with
access to I-77 , lies 20 miles to the northwest. Cadiz is
approximately 8 miles to the west. |

Fishing
Opportunities |
Tappan
Lake offers anglers Largemouth Bass, Bluegill,
Crappies, and Channel Catfish. Walleye fishing is
becoming increasingly popular. Perch, Bullheads, and
Sunfish can also be found. These species were stocked
by the Ohio Department of Wildlife. |
Boating
Information |
There
is a 120HP restriction on Tappan Lake. There is a
boat ramp located off of State Route 250 near a roadside
rest area, and another is located at the Tappan Marina,
which rents boats and offers other services, including a
restaurant. |
State
Management |
The
Division of Wildlife activities include stocking,
construction of fish attractors, monitoring fish populations,
creel studies, plus physical and chemical water analysis. |
